All sessions will be conducted online using the Jane App telehealth system. 30 minutes prior to our scheduled session time you will receive an email with a button that says ‘Begin Your Online Appointment’. Clicking this button will take you to a telehealth consent page and then in to my online waiting room. I’ll be with you as soon as I’m able. If you are using your phone to meet you will want to download the Jane Video app. Alternatively to the email, you can find the ‘Begin’ button by logging in to your Jane App account.
Tyler is registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#2886) and holds both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Tyler has over twenty years experience working with children, youth, and families, and works collaboratively with clients to develop and attain their goals. His friendliness and relational style create a warm environment where individuals, couples, and families are safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Tyler utilizes many of the proven methods found in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy while maintaining both Family Systems and Attachment perspectives. This ensures that families and individuals are known within their context and that changes made by an individual are sustainable within a family structure.
Tyler has spent a significant amount of time doing humanitarian work in various countries all over the world. This, along with being a part of the adoptive community, has created a love and respect of different cultures which he brings into his counselling.
Tyler was born and raised on the North Shore of Vancouver but never owned a mountain bike until October 2019. He continues to happily live there, largely unscathed, with his wife and three children.
